Digital Storytelling

Introduction

Everybody's got a story, right?  Our daily conversations with friends and family often recount stories.  You might have experienced a teacher or boss who likes to tell stories as a way to instruct or guide you.  Certainly many media productions and publications (TV, Movies, Music, etc) reflect stories about people or concepts.  Telling stories through a digital format includes employing visual images, voice (often based on written script), music, and transitional effects which thread the pieces together.  Digital storytelling can be a great project for learning: researching a topic, capturing images via relevant tagging on Flickr, utililizing software (Photo Story 3 or Windows Movie Maker) that can then translate into a creative and personal product.  There are other tools, of course, but we'll focus on the following to start!
